Marylebone TOwnhouse W1
A rare townhouse reimagined as a contemporary family home
Located in the heart of Marylebone Village, this rare double-fronted townhouse offered the potential for a truly expansive residence—but required a complete architectural transformation to realise it. Our vision was to take a constrained period building and restructure it into a cohesive, light-filled sanctuary designed for modern family life.
We delivered a comprehensive architectural strategy that maximised the building's volume in every dimension. By securing planning consents for a mansard roof extension, a subterranean excavation, and adjustments to the footprint, we created the necessary square footage for a generous family layout. Internally, we removed the compartmentalised corridors of the past, establishing a fluid, open plan that connects the social spaces and allows the home to function effortlessly for a contemporary lifestyle.
